FOR the second week running it was injury-time heartbreak for Billinge as they went down by the odd goal in a seven-goal thriller.
It could and probably should have been a routine victory for The Storks as they went two goals up against a Congleton Vale side that came into the game on the back of three defeats.
As it was the visitors never let their heads drop and battled until the finish to pick up the three points.
Phil Dearden opened the scoring to keep himself at the top of the Premier Division goalscoring charts with his 17th of the season.
The Storks doubled their lead through Jamie Anderson.
However Vale hit back with three goals.
Ball equalised for the Storks and went looking for a winner as Ross and Dearden both had efforts on goal.
In added-on time Dan Beuhler finished well to win the game for his side and condemn injury-hit Billinge to their fourth defeat in a row.
After the game a philosophical Potter said: “Due to our massive injury list we had a team full of attackers and had to adapt as best we could.
“Losing Raz McCabe was a huge factor as we were 2-0 up at that stage but we just have to battle on.
“The players are devastated as they know they know they should have won the game but we’ll get together in training, work hard and make sure we get back to our early season form.”
