STOCKTON Heath fighter Steven Watts will be looking to bring the international lightweight K1 kickboxing title home with him to Warrington when he takes to the ring later this month, writes Nathan Okell.

Watts, 38, will be fighting at Liverpool’s Greenbank Sports Academy on October 28 as part of the K1 Extreme show, where he will face Dimas Carrilho from The Netherlands.

After training in Muay Thai and K1 for over seven years, Watts has established a record of three wins and one loss, and is hoping to return victorious to his club, Warrior Muay Thai in Latchford, where he trains under the tutelage of Darren Collins.

His previous wins include an international fight in Denmark, where he impressively defeated his opponent in the first round with a knockout by spinning back kick.

Watts, head of cyber security for a financial company, has had to juggle his kickboxing career with his job and family.

He and his wife have recently welcomed a new son to the world.
