SAINTS and England half back Jonny Lomax has been granted a testimonial by the RFL after clocking up 10 years with his hometown club.

Lomax, who has had an outstanding year back in the halves after switching from full back, made his debut in 2009.

Having battled back from two major knee reconstructions, Lomax has risen to the challenges thrown at him and this season has been one of Super League's most gifted halves.

The 28-year-old former Orrell St James junior posted the news on Instagram, explaining that pulling on the red vee is the fulfilment of a boyhood dream.

He stated: "I am delighted to have been granted a testimonial by the RFL.

"Thanks to Saints, my teammates, family, friends and fans for their support over the years.

"As a seven year old boy my biggest dream was to play for my hometown club. Eleven years later in 2009 I was lucky enough to get my chance.

"Fast forward another decade and I am still living my boyhood dream.

"During the journey that has been my career, there have been high and low points, and I am proud to be where I am now, something I wouldn't have achieved without the unrelenting support of this club and its fans."
