CLUBS in the St Helens and surrounding areas are gearing themselves up for the second year of All Stars Cricket starting in May.
This is the first step in the ECB national pathway for cricket, with Rainford, Sutton, St Helens Town, Earlestown and Newton among the clubs participating.
With fun at its heart, the programme aims to inspire children aged five to eight to take up cricket, provide a great first experience of the game and welcome new volunteers into cricket clubs.
For further details visit ecb.co.uk/All-stars, put in your postcode and select a cricket club from one of the centres nearest to you.
Meanwhile, Rainford 19-year-old Ellie Threlkeld arrived in South Africa with the England Women’s Senior Academy this week for the start of a six-match tri-nations series with the hosts and Australia.
