THERE was another healthy turn out from St Helens Striders at the final Chorley 4 mile road race ofthe summer last week.
John Lingard led the men's team home with a time of 25 minutes 28 seconds followed closely by Les Abbott with a time of 25.48 and Danny Fegan just 5 seconds behind in 25.53 Ste Pickavance continued his steady summer form to record a time of 26.10 and Brian Middleton put his recent injury troubles behind him to clock a time of 27.09.
Alex Jackson ran well to finish in 27.54, with Tom Houghton clocking a steady 29.54.Brian Banawich completed the men's contingent with a time of 31.32 in his first road race outing of the year.
Carol Foster was first home in the Strider's women's team with a time of 30.20 closely followed by the improving Rachel Fishwick in 30.32.Dawn Platt finished in 31.13 with Carla Ellis and Claire Pickavance both finishing with a time of 35.45.
