ST HELENS Town host promotion-chasing Whitchurch Alport at Ruskin Drive on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
Volunteers are asked to turn up early to assist with crowd control and other duties as Pilkington Recs are engaged in the Rugby League Challenge Cup, kick-off 2pm, on the adjacent pitch and sharing many of the facilities.
Town have not defeated Whitchurch in the three meetings since a 10-0 win less than two years ago at the end of Alport’s first season in the North West Counties League.
They last met at Yockings Park at the end of December when clinical finishing sent Town to a 4-1 defeat.
St Helens go into the clash on the back of a third game in a row being called off.
For the third season in succession, Town’s Saturday trip to Holker Old Boys was postponed - this time due to a waterlogged pitch in Cumbria.
Now Town face travelling to Barrow to play in midweek instead, with players and club-officials having to lose time off work and university commitments and potentially fielding a weakened team in a bottom-of-the-table scrap and not getting home until gone midnight.
