SAINTS may still have an 11-strong contingent out on World Cup duty, but the rest of the squad have resumed training.

It was back to work, with new signing James Bentley and promoted youngster Matty Costello getting to meet their new first team colleagues.

Coach Justin Holbrook said: “It will be good to get back into training and to look forward to next season starting.

“It gives us time to work on things which is hard to do during the season when you are rolling from game to game.

“When you think how we finished the season, we need the players to work a little harder and we need a more consistent year.

“We know we have to finish in top four and then finish in top two; those things make a big difference. We only played three Super 8 games at home so we have to work hard from round one. If you get those things in your favour then they can help you get you a shot at the Grand Final.

“I think now I have had half a year with the boys they know what to expect of me and vice versa. We know we need to work hard.”
