SAINTS supporters, townsfolk and the rugby league community get the opportunity to celebrate the life of former wing legend Tom van Vollenhoven this week.
A memorial service, featuring the words of club chairman Eamonn McMcManus and a eulogy from Vollenhoven's former 1960s team-mate Ray French, will take place at St Helens Parish Church in Church Square on Thursday November 9 at 7pm.
Those attending the service, and all are welcome, are asked to be in place by 6.45pm.
Vollenhoven, who played for Saints between 1957-68, died in his native South Africa on 21 October - news greeted with an outpouring of tributes from those who saw him play or have had stories of the legend passed down to them.
