SAINTS prop Luke Douglas suffered as compound fracture of the finger in Friday's defeat by Leigh.
The experienced front rower, who held the record for consecutive appearances in the NRL, will be out of action for an unspecified length of time.
Saints boss Keiron Cunningham said:"it is the curse of the club again. He has played for years and not missed a game or training, pulls a Saints shirt on and he needs surgery.
"Tt is unfortunate, but we will shake it off and get him back as soon as we can.
"It is not a major thing, so we will get him back as soon as we can."
