FC St Helens marched into the League Cup Quarter Finals with a 4-1 victory at home to Daten FC.
Callum Hanlon opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a well executed free kick from the edge of the box, with the Reds then continuing to create several good chances to extend the lead - but they failed to find the net.
This proved to be costly, after a well worked Daten counter attack saw the Warrington side draw level just ahead of the break.
After half time FC began to dominate the game, and retook the lead when substitute Morgan Dearden scored with his first touch of the game after good work from Lee Deakin.
This spurred FC on to secure the victory with Deakin getting the goal his performance deserved, before Liam Houghton made it four with a goal of the season contender — finishing an eye pleasing one touch passing team move, involving most of the team and started by the impressive Paul Meadows at centre half.
FC will now host Orford FC in the quarter finals at Windleshaw on the 7 January.
