A FINE turnout of former players and supporters attended Harry Pinner's book launch in the St Helens Central Library on Wedensday.
Pinner has recently published his autobiography, A Born Leader, and attendees witnessed an afternoon soaked in rugby league nostalgia.
The Lancashire Cup, won by Saints skippered by Pinner in 1984, stood proudly on the front desk as speakers Peter Lush, the publisher, Ray French, George Nicholls, Billy Benyon and Neil Holding gave their own slant on the career of the great Saints' loose forward and captain of the 1980s. Former Chairman John Clegg was also in the audience, with wife Glynis. Other ex-team mates present included Graham Liptrot, Paul Forber and Chris Arkwright.
The book is selling well and can be purchased from Wardleworths or the Saints' Superstore.
