ED Clancy says he cannot believe he has another Olympics gold medal in his possession today.
The 31-year-old, who has spent time living in Newton, was in the company of Bradley Wiggins among a quartet winning cycling's team pursuit for a third successive Olympic Games in Rio last night.
And Clancy, who was born in Barnsley and raised in Huddersfield, did so with Wiggins, Steven Burke and Owain Doull in a world record time 3.50.265, edging out Australia in the Olympic Velodrome by eight tenths of a second in a dramatic showdown led by the sliver medallists for much of the way.
For Clancy, it caps an incredible recovery from a back injury that threatened to end his career.
Still can't believe this happened last night!
