RAINFORD continued their improved form with a 43 run win across the Welsh border at Northop Hall.

Electing to bat first they compiled a competitive 216 for 6 with Joe Noctor (59) and James Seward (54 not out) starting and finishing the innings with half centuries.

In between, Pravin Tambe (28), Paul Farrar (22) and Ben Hewitt (26) maintained the momentum.

Dan Houghton and Olly Jump removed both Northop Hall openers early but the Welshmen always remained in the hunt.

They were eventually undone by Pravin Tambe 4-55 and Andy Davies who nipped in with two wickets dismissing the home side for 173.

The 2nd and 3rd XI’S suffered a double defeat by Leigh, on Saturday by 59 runs despite 7 wickets and 39 runs from Andrew Harrison and 25 from Ellie Threlkeld, and on Sunday by 151 runs.
