Actress Brenda Blethyn, known for playing the lead character in the ITV drama Vera, has hinted at a return to the show.
While Vera stopped airing new episodes last year and a reboot isn't currently on the cards, it hasn’t stopped Brenda, who played DCI Vera Stanhope, from looking ahead to the future.
The series came to an end in 2025 after 14 series.
Brenda Blethyn says she'd love to return to Vera for special episodes
Speaking with Woman's Day, she revealed whether she would ever return to the ITV show to play Vera again.
She said: "In a drop of her bucket hat.
"Yes, if they did a special or something, of course I would.
"It was a wonderful job."
The actress hinted that she was working on a new project that is yet to be confirmed, the Radio Times reports.
In November of last year, Brenda said that the Vera set was no longer available to use but that "if they were doing a special, certainly, yeah, I'd leap at it."
The Dark Wives, which was Vera’s last episode, aired on January 2, 2025, and fans were treated to a documentary which aired on January 3.
