Arsenal and Manchester City are set to clash in the Community Shield, which will take place today (Sunday, August 16).
It will serve as the traditional curtain-raiser for the new season.
This year’s fixture will be played at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium instead of Wembley.
This is because Wembley is hosting a series of concerts by Canadian singer The Weeknd.
The Principality Stadium, which seats nearly 74,000 fans, last hosted the Community Shield in 2006.
It regularly hosts international rugby and football fixtures for the Welsh national teams.
Arsenal are familiar with the venue, having contested the Community Shield four times in Wales between 2002 and 2005.
They won twice and lost twice during that period.
How to watch the 2026 Community Shield
This year's FA Community Shield will take place on Sunday, August 16 and kicks off at 3pm.
It will be broadcast exclusively live in the UK on TNT Sports and HBO Max.
Subscribers can stream the entire event, including pre-match analysis and post-match reaction.
If you're not watching on HBO Max, the channel will be TNT Sports 1 or TNT Sports Ultimate.
The Community Shield was previously available to watch on free-to-air TV, with ITV1 having broadcast it for the start of the 2024/25 season.
However, TNT Sports has had the rights to broadcast the event since then.
Who competes in the Community Shield?
The Community Shield is contested between the Premier League champions and FA Cup winners.
Arsenal secured the league title last season, finishing seven points ahead of Manchester City.
This ended a 22-year wait for the Gunners.
City earned their place by winning the FA Cup with a 1-0 victory over Chelsea.
Antonie Semenyo scored the decisive goal at Wembley.
The win gave Pep Guardiola a final piece of silverware before his departure.

The one-off match takes place a week before the start of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
Moving the fixture away from Wembley is not entirely unprecedented in recent years.
Ahead of the 2022/23 season, the 2022 Community Shield between Manchester City and Liverpool was moved to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium due to the UEFA Women’s Euro final taking over Wembley.
