During the virus I have heard time and time again the effects that this is having on care homes, but in all honesty it really didn’t mean a great deal to me because I have no elderly parents.

Today, however, I passed the care home in Park Road to see families standing in pouring rain waving to their elderly family member.

It struck me just how sad this situation is. Surely after nearly nine months it’s not been beyond someone’s capabilities to have come up with a safe system where families could at least sit in the same room if no physical contact allowed?

We have managed to screen of in small shops, supermarkets, and banks and when allowed to open –pubs.

Or is priority being given to commercial outfits and the elderly and sick being ignored.
