MY friend and I did a Sponsored Walk for a mile with the children of St Peter and St. Paul’s Junior School in St Helens.

All the money donated has now been sent to The Uphill Charity to provide the children at The Uphill School in Western Uganda with Mosquito Nets.

These will make a big improvement in protecting the children who live in a remote village of Iruhuura in Uganda from suffering from Malaria.

I would like to pass on my appreciation and thanks to all the amazing people who sponsored us. The full total raised is £561.

The money is enough to buy more than112 Mosquito Nets, which will save over 500 children from contracting malaria from Mosquito bites – this is because a mother will sleep with a baby and up to three children on a mattress on the floor under a net.

The nets, which cost £5, will be bought in Kampala this coming February.

Well done everyone, you should all be very proud of yourselves, many thanks again – and thanks also to Jean Evans who has been a very supportive friend.
