DOES anyone else feel penalised for a being a pensioner and not using bank cards and credit cards in certain shops in St Helens when trying to buy certain products?
I’ve had this issue at B &Q, Screwfix, Clintons card shop and several more. I was told I had to pay by card.
Thumbs up to the likes of Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Wilkinsons though.
Oh, and Car Shack who obliged and took cash for car wipers blades.
The most annoying thing of late was when my wife tried to park on the car park near Beechams.
After ringing the number shown on the machine – because she could not pay cash – she was then told by a member of the public that she was supposed to use a smartphone.
She has now been fined by St Helens Council for parking for seven minutes trying to buy a ticket. They are a joke.
