THE street lights on a stretch of Rainford bypass are on 24 hours a day, seven days days per week.
This is from the junction that goes up to the Bottle and Glass or the other way to Rainford Pottery Trading estate, all the way to the main island at Rainford.
This has been the case for about five weeks now that I know of. And despite many reminders to the council nothing is happening.
The council is complaining they are going to have a £25 million deficit and they cannot even sort the street lights off.
We had a similar situation when the Windle Junction improvement was done last year – street lights from the junction in direction of Manchester/Liverpool/Rainford for close to six months.
