I RECENTLY became aware of the astonishing statue to Norman Harvey VC, that is in Mesnes Park, Newton-le-Willows.
A photo was sent to me by a friend, she subsequently sent me your newspaper article on its unveiling.
I was concerned to see that no where on the citation plaque does it appear to mention that this man was awarded a VC, not after his name or at the end of the citation.
Surely this man deserves to have those letters after his name?
I wonder if anything could be done about it.
The CWGC engraves the headstone of a VC winner with the medal surely this man deserves to have those letters after his name on the statue.
Such bravery at such a young age.
