I LIVE on Prescot Road and first reported a rat problem in March.
The council refused to come to my property because of the lockdown which is understandable but three months later I am unable to let my children into the garden as there are rat droppings everywhere.
Again I contacted the council and was told it is not an emergency as that rats were not in my property.
I was given instructions to buy poison and kill them myself.
Myself and my neighbours therefore bought poison and three weeks later I am still seeing evidence in my front, back garden and my driveway.
I have been quoted £200 from a private company so therefore I’ve had to pay this but I find it shocking that the council know this problem in my area and still let bins get in such a mess.
