VERY recently my darling wife died following a long illness.

To say I was devastated would be an understatement.

Anyhow to my point, together with my daughters we began to prepare and arrange for the day of the funeral, select undertakers, flowers, songs and donations to Willowbrook Hospital and more.

Four family members were selected as bearers, myself included, two limos for close family.

Imagine my consternation when at the undertakers I was informed that only 10 mourners could attend, no limos and worst of all no family bearers.

Now I am fully aware with what is happening in the world of ours with this damned coronavirus.

But when I see that thousands of people are congregating on our beaches and beauty spots, have barbecues and six people may meet in public or back gardens, thousands of children have returned to primary school, I could go on.

But when four family members are not allowed to carry or push a trolley of a loved family member, but four strangers can is beyond me and heartbreaking.
