I AM absolutely appalled by the amount of litter discarded on our streets and the problem seems to be getting worse.
Pavements, roads and grass verges are strewn with waste.
On a recent walk around Taylor Park, I was disgusted to see litter dropped within 10 feet of empty public bins.
I am also noticing thoughtlessly discarded plastic gloves and face masks.
Our town is looking more and more like a rubbish dump.
Obviously the main culprits are the individuals who drop the litter in the first instance, but it would help if residents could at least clean outside their own front gates.
I have taken to litter-picking when I go out to exercise as I cannot stand to see the waste.
On another note, litter poses a significant threat to animals and wildlife, resulting in many calls to the RSPCA, so please, please can everyone clean up their acts.
