OUR family would like to say a big thank you and well done to our local pub The Billinge Arms for all their hard work and such generosity to the elderly and vulnerable in our community.

At no cost, the owner makes a two course meal and delivers it to our mum who has just had treatment for lung cancer and has COPD.

She is having to isolate for 12 weeks.

Myself and my husband have been in self isolation and my sister, who has three autistic children and a husband who is a key worker, was absolutely delighted to hear of Luke’s generosity to deliver meals three times a week to my mum all free of charge.

We offered to pay but he insisted that he just wanted to give to the community in these difficult times.

He not only does this for my mum but many others.
I just feel that people hear about bad things but it would be nice to recognise the kindness of people at this time and to show appreciation.

I saw him offering this service on Facebook and have never even met him before and he doesn’t even know my mum but as soon as I rang to enquire he offered to start the following day.

What a lovely thing to do for our community.

Thank you.
