AFTER the disastrous development at Florida Farm which has blighted the lives of the community for 320 jobs there are now proposals for a repeat fiasco on the green belt in Bold.
On the site of what was planned as the Bold Forest Park there are now proposals for warehousing for Home Bargains and three other units for unknown occupants.
After spending £140,000 developing the Bold Forest Action Plan to turn this into a high quality setting for tourism, recreation, leisure and rural enterprise there appears to have been little or no progress on this plan which was designed to remedy years of dereliction following the closure of the mines.
Instead our open countryside and green belt is up for grabs to the highest bidder. This proposal will do nothing to achieve the council’s stated aim of enhancing the area and will add to the already dire traffic issues around the M62 corridor.
They say that insanity is repeating the same actions and expecting a different result. So let’s not repeat the Florida Farm Fiasco.
Kick this plan in touch.
