I REFER to the article in the Star regarding town library.

Statements made by the council come into question.

1. The Central Library, an iconic building, was closed in March 2017 for repairs, what has become urgent due to long term neglect.

2. “A temporary library at The World of Glass has long been the preferred destination for a new town centre library” I would like to ask by whom?

This location is not town centre at all.

How can regular users be expected to trail across town - and back - with their books to connect with public transport - and why should they? especially in all weathers.

3. How ‘temporary’ is temporary?

St Helens Council, please stop referring to ‘the new town centre library’ because it not so.

To add to these difficulties, operations hours across all libraries will be reduced.
