BELOW is a list of litter I collected from Bushey Lane, Rainford Junction the other morning.
There were 155 general items including straws, newspaper, chocolate bar wrappers, paper cups, vape items, crisp bags, cigarette packets etc.
There was also:
- Three glass items empty vodka/gin/Speckled Hen bottles-potentially a danger
- 22 plastic bottles
- 24 cans
I did not pick up everything due to access.
Additionally I did not collect dog muck bags thrown in the hedge. I did think why would you pick it up when you are going to throw it away?
That’s 204 items on Bushey Lane, which is less than one mile.
This letter is not to say ‘aren’t I brilliant collecting these items!’ I know other members of the public regularly litter pick. This was my first time.
It is not a criticism of the council.
It’s just to ask why do possibly 204 people think they can throw litter anywhere?
Tony Brown, Rainford
