I JUST want to say a huge thank you for an incredible year.

This time last year I was at my lowest ebb, I had just lost my business due to unstoppable flooding, I was in a very bad place. I didn’t think I would make it through Christmas.

In the space of a few months the whole town came together and picked me back up. You all raised nearly £5,000 to be able to move Momo’s to Westfield Street. It was enough to pay deposits, keep the bills down, stop me from going bankrupt and keep me and my son fed until we opened the doors.

You all donated your time to re paint the entire shop that was painted black, knock down walls, fill skips and every item of furniture in there has been donated by the kind people of St Helens.

You lifted me up when I was on my knees for this I will be eternally grateful and I will continue to fight and be a voice for the people of St Helens.

I will bang on the doors of the town hall, I will make awkward phone calls for you, I will refer people for any kind of help, I will scream at professionals until they listen, I will mither councillors, I will sit with people in A&E when they’re suicidal, I will advocate for all the people who feel they have no voice.

We will sit with the lonely, hug the depressed, laugh with the comedians and continue to work around the clock to provide you with a community space in the town centre where your kids can enjoy themselves, you can have a minute, history buffs can learn something new and provide all kinds of mental health support.

In the new year we will have free courses, bring a Saturday night youth club to town and have many other things in the pipeline.

I stand up for the poor, the disabled, the shy, the anxious, the people that don’t know where to go, and I will do it with every part of me.

Because I owe it to you all. One good turn deserves another.

So to the people of St Helens, you are amazing, don’t let anyone tell you we have a naff town and we have nothing. We do, we have each other and that’s all we need.

The Momos team would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and wish you a wonderful 2020.
