Newton station
IN reply to Jean Johnson of Broad Oak, the original letter regarding Newton Station was not about people arriving there by bus, who will find things easier.
It was about people arriving on foot from the Southworth Road/High Street direction, for whom access is now more difficult, particularly if they are old or infirm.
It is obvious that the station designers praised by Mrs Johnson expected that the old approach road would continue to be used.
Why then has it been fenced off?
