THE policy of austerity was an excuse to shrink the state, de-regulate, slash council budgets and public spending – punishing the majority and enabling them to blame Labour councils for lesser local services.
Punishing the majority for mistakes made by a group of bankers and the wealthy who have actually benefited from the financial crash.
It’s an absolute disgrace.
If it were up to me I’d reverse the cuts, regulate the banks and ensure guidelines were in place to actually punish bankers should they end up crashing the economy.
