I PITY the working people in hundreds of small terraced houses, opening directly on to the street.

They drag their bins to some distant collection point, and put out the recycling on the street.

They return from work and the containers have gone, blown around, kicked around, or stolen.

Their neighbours do not have space to take in other people’s containers.
If the council provided or sold one-use bags which could be taken with the recycling it would solve one of the problems.

All rubbish collection methods should be planned around these terraced houses and working people. Get that right and everything else will fall into place.
