FOLLOWING on from the London 2012 Paralympics the North West Cerebral Palsy seven-a-side football season will be starting on Saturday, October 6.
With players attending from all over the North West including Jordan Twiss from Rainford the squad boasts an under 16's who where throughout the 2011-2012 season and an open age team that includes team GB star George Fletcher.
Competing in the FA Cerebral Palsy National League, the team first travel to St George’s Park, National Football Centre at Burton, on October 27 where they will lock horns with the North East, West Midlands and the East Midlands regional squads in three really competitive fixtures.
The North West squad is based at the new state of the art Salford City Stadium with training every Saturday at 10am.
The team is currently managed and co-ordinated by local coach Sean Bailey with several further staff including a sports science team.
