A FAMILY’S quest to send their little girl to the USA for a life-changing operation is a step closer with help from clairvoyants and mediums.

Almost £2,500 was raised at a special event to help five-year-old Susanna Petersburska from Eccleston, who suffers from cerebral palsy, and needs an operation to allow her to walk unaided.

Her family is looking to raise £60,000 to send her to St Louis in Missouri for the procedure, which could have a huge impact on the rest of her life.

The charity night at Eccleston Social Club and organised by Philomena Denton, saw a number of mediums take to the stage to give demonstrations and offer private readings to an audience of 170 people.

Philomena, who became involved after hearing about Susanna’s plight from a friend, said: “I was amazed at the success of the event and people’s generosity.

“Everybody had a great time, and it was a pleasure to meet the family in person for the first time.”

Susanna’s parents Monika and Andrzej said: “We had a wonderful night, and are overwhelmed by how generous everybody was.

“Recently we have been struggling with our fundraising due to not knowing many people in the community.

“So we were over the moon when we found out that Julia Roach from our local chemist had told Philomena about Susanna and our need to raise the money, which led her to contact Caudwell Children, the charity supporting our fundraising, and said she would like to organise an event.

“We would like to say a massive thankyou to Philomena for all her hard work and to all the clairvoyants and mediums for giving their time – we really couldn’t be more grateful.”
