POLICE handed out 19 fixed penalty notices when they held a Speedwatch operation on Prescot Road last week. One driver was summoned for four traffic offences and eight verbal warnings were dished out to drivers.
Inspector Don Blackburn commented: "Speedwatch helps to make our roads safer for everyone - motorists, pedestrians and residents alike.
"Speed limits are set as a maximum and I urge drivers to check their speed regularly."
