A MAN who alleges his car was deliberately torched outside his home believes it is part of the campaign of intimidation he claims to have suffered ever since he confronted a gang of louts. Now he says he feel so threatened, he may have to move away.

Thirty-four-year-old Stephen Garcia from Haydock said he has been subject to a relentless barrage of abuse and threats since facing up to the gang. This culminated in the attack on his car last month, which left it totally destroyed.

He added: "Somehow over the last six months they have got my mobile phone number and are making threatening calls. But when I told the police they seemed blas about it, saying it was all hearsay. After all that's happened I can't understand why they are not doing anything."

Mr Garcia said he was lucky that the fire didn't cause more serious damage as it quickly spread to the front of his house damaging the gutters and filling the ground floor with smoke.

Police say they are treating the attack as criminal damage.
