RE letters (Dear Star September 30, Traffic jam on the footpath), your reader should try walking past any primary/nursery school at 3 o'clock.
Just this week I had to push my children's pram into the road (into oncoming traffic) because some parents decided to park their cars so far onto the pavement that there was no way possible to pass. Even if I hadn't had a pram it would have been extremely difficult to pass. When I challenged the parent (who just happened to be picking his two children up from school), he looked at me as if I was the inconsiderate one. I wonder if he would have been happy to walk his children in to the road.
So please driving parents, just because you don't use your feet to collect your children, don't assume that others don't need to use the footpath.
A FRUSTRATED pedestrian and parent, (name and address supplied).
