SHE'S more accustomed to beauty pageants and glamour shoots for glossy magazines, but now model Louise Glover is packing her bags to take part in a BBC programme following her on a five-week trip to Malaysia.

The 21-year-old St Helens pin up, is taking the journey with Raleigh International, a charity that encourages young people to work on environmental and community projects around the world.

Louise, who jets out this week, has raised a remarkable £3,500 for the charity in just over two months and will set out to learn more about Malaysian culture and take part in village life. She said: "Where I will be staying is a six hour walk to the nearest road.

" I will be helping to build a footbridge and in the evening I will be teaching English to the locals. I will learn about their culture such as jungle survival, fishing and studying their history."

Louise, who travelled to Belize with Raleigh International when she was 17, said the rest of the time would be spent scaling mountains, monitoring sea turtles and visiting an orang-utan sanctuary. She said she wanted to thank friends and family for their support and staff at the Assembly who held her charity fundraising party.
