THATTO slumped to their seventh defeat of the season at Wigan on Saturday as an in-form St Pat's followed up their previous week's success at leaders Wath Brow by powering to a comfortable win.

It all started brightly enough for the visitors when they took the lead in the 11th minute as loose-forward Jamie Hill evaded a couple of would-be tacklers to score in the corner. Mike Woods couldn't manage to add the extras from the touchline but was on target with a penalty shortly afterwards to give Heath a 6-0 lead.

This seemed to jolt the home side into action though and they hit back when winger David Jones went in for a solo try, goaled by Kevin Peet.

St Pats were on top now and they added further tries by stand-off Parker and centre Bradbury. Heath's only reply came from a second Woods penalty as they went in at the break trailing 16-8.

The second half saw the Wiganers in full control and further tries from Hales, Peet and Bradbury saw them put the result beyond doubt.

Heath did manage to have the last word through Mark Hayton who finished off a good cross-field move to score out wide.

Man-of-the-match awards for the losers went to Ste Brown (backs) and Jamie Hill (forwards).
