Dave Forrester continued to perform to the same high standard he has shown all season to finish just 11 seconds behind the winner in the 4 km under 15s boys event with a time of 13 min.6 secs, just being beaten on the final climb to the finish.

Supporting Dave were John Dumbell who ran 15 min.11 secs, Ben Clough, 15 min.26 secs, Peter Knowles, 16 min.3 secs. and Steve Clague, 17 min.41 secs for the team to finish in 13th place, the second Merseyside team.

The under 13 years girls team were led by Joanne Sturgeon who finished 41st in 13 min.10 secs. for the 3 km.

Heather Drillingcourt ran 13 min.59 secs, Lauren Bradshaw 14 min.57 secs. despite losing a shoe, and Katie Jolly 15 min.25 secs, with the team finishing 16th, the third Merseyside team.

In the Boys event Jake Healy, running in his first major championship was an excellent twentieth, with John Ashcroft finishing 127th and Daniel Hughes 154th. Chloe Wilson was the only girl to run in the under 15 yrs race over 4 km, recording 17 min.22 secs.

Both the senior men and women finished compete teams with the Ladies finishing in the higher position.

Sparkling

Led by a sparkling performance from Gill Bacon who took 32 min.31to complete the 8 km. course the team finished an excellent ninth being the second Merseyside team. Sarah Charnock ran 34 min.26 secs, Julia Eccleston 36 min.20 secs, veteran Cecilia Fitzsimons 40 min.15, Chris Dempsey 42 min, and Chris Dickenson 43 min.5.

The mens team finished twenty places higher than last year being the second Merseyside team. Barry Graney continued his good form to be the first for the club with a time of 46 min.44. for the 12 km course.

At the Northern Senior Indoor Championships held at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium, Emma McLatchey improved her club pole vault record to 2.50 metres in taking fifth place.

At the sports hall meeting held at Connahs Quay, North Wales, the club qualified for all three boys finals in the North West league.
