SKATEBOARDING sensation Matty Carlisle (pictured) has edged closer to his dream of turning pro after beating off rival aces from across the continent to clinch a junior crown.

The 12-year-old whizkid is celebrating his biggest triumph to date after winning the under 15s title at the 2010 European Vert Skateboarding Championships.

Now he’s go his sights set on testing himself against the best junior competitors in the world over in USA.

Rainhill High pupil Matty’s breathtaking array of spectacular spins and flips stole the show in front of a 500-strong crowd at the event held in Malmo, Sweden.

Dad, Chris, says the skate wizard show was topped off with a risky ‘Rodeo’ move, which involves a spectacular 540-degree spin.

A panel of judges were so impressed with it that they awarded him a special "best trick" prize too.

The honour represents a rapid rise for the youngster who only took up the extreme sport two and a half years ago.

A year ago when he bagged the UK under-11 mini-ramp title.

His next big goal is to take part in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour in the USA this summer where he so battle against the world’s top juniors.
