A WOMAN had to be cut free from the wreckage of a car that was involved in a smash with a 7.5-tonne lorry, according to the fire service.
The crash happened on North Road, St Helens at about 12.15pm on Monday, December 14.
Firefighters used cutters and spreading tools to free her from the damaged Fiat Panda.
Emergency crews say the woman, believed to be aged about 50, was taken to hospital.
Her injuries are not thought to be serious.
The crash led to road closure and tailbacks that lasted for about an hour.
