THERE’S plenty who show real dedication to the red vee…but can anyone out there beat Japan’s Katsuhiko Oka?

For this week the dedicated supporter is travelling 6,000 miles from Tokyo to St Helens to watch his beloved Saints.

Katsuhiko, known to pals as Katz, will arrive at Knowsley Road’s GPW Recruitment Stadium on Friday to watch Mick Potter’s men take on Wakefield.

He works in the Information Systems department of NSG - the company that bought Pilkington - in Tokyo. As well as having a ‘Saints’ Wall’ in his office – with assorted press-cuttings, DVDs, newspapers, flags and banners He prints out match reports and league table after every game for his whole office to see and is an avid fan of Super League TV.

Colleague Cath Hawley said: “Since his first trip, he has looked forward to every subsequent one, always checking the fixture list as soon as one is arranged to ensure his flights leave him available to watch the match.

“We’re looking forward to taking Katz to the game. He has his replica shirt packed and his match ticket is ready and waiting.

“He has a ground ticket these days as he prefers to stand on the popular side with colleagues and their families.

“Then, we will visit the pub and discuss how well Saints played!”
