TO many townspeople Graham Smith will forever be the Egg and Sausage Artist whose distinctly individual paintings were always worth a second glance for anyone wandering down Duke Street where they were regularly on display in the window of the Christian Bookshop.

And now one avid fan of Graham’s is gathering information to compile the first full guide to the artist’s works over the years.

Gail Ellis (47) from Warrington is asking Star readers to write to her with their memories and anecdotes of Graham, and tell her about the works they had or still owned, subject matter, size and, how they came to obtain the painting.

At one point in his artistic output, Graham was prepare to swap paintings for a kiss.

Gail said: “I’m after any information on Graham. He is a lovely gentleman and a highly skilled artist whom I greatly admire. I think he should be more acclaimed than he is and intend to change all that.

”There is not one single publication on this undervalued artist containing his works. I want to promote his works through exhibitions throughout the country.

“The biography will contain his life story and his works of art.

“I am currently setting up a website in order that people can obtain information on him and works and at the same time enhance his profile worldwide.

“If anyone has been given or bought one of his paintings over the last few decades, I would like a description of it, subject matter, size etc, and a photo if possible either sending to me or through an email and the circumstances surrounding the gift or the purchase.
