A WOMAN is due to appear in court charged with shop theft and assault.
Chelsea Bailey, of Carnegie Crescent, Sutton, is accused of stealing items worth £316.59 from New Look on Church Street in St Helens on Thursday, June 4, this year.
She is also charged with the common assault of a female on Church Street in St Helens on the same date.

Bailey, 37, has been charged under the Theft Act 1968 and the Criminal Justice Act 1988.
She is scheduled to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court today for a first hearing to face the charges, on Tuesday, September 8.
