A NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist has been left fighting for life after a collision on the East Lancashire Road.
Police are appealing for information following the collision, which took place last night, Sunday September 6, near to Coach Road, in Rainford.
Just before 9pm, police received a report of a collision involving a Lexmoto motorbike.
The rider was taken to hospital with multiple injuries and is in a critical condition, police said.
Passers-by had stopped to administer first aid to the motorcyclist.
The force said an investigation has commenced and officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The rider of the bike, a 19 year-old man from Liverpool, remains in a critical condition in hospital and our thoughts are with his family.
“The collision occurred on the Manchester-bound carriageway, near to Coach Road in St Helens.
"We know that the motorcyclist travelled from the direction of Coopers Lane, Kirkby, shortly before the collision, but our enquiries are continuing to establish the cause of the collision.
