A MAN has been banned from driving after he was caught behind the wheel under the influence of drugs.
Mark Bailey, of Bronte Street, in Newtown, St Helens, was stopped by police on Boundary Road in St Helens on Thursday, February 19, this year.
He was found to have 10 micrograms per litre of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the active compound in cannabis, in his blood.
Bailey, 56, appeared at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 25, where he pleaded guilty to driving while over the specified drug limit.
He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £436.

He was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £174 victim surcharge.
All payments are to be made in monthly instalments of £50, starting September 22.
Bailey was unrepresented and chose to proceed without a solicitor.
He was informed of the court process and the implications of his plea.
