A MAN has been fined for drug possession and being drunk and disorderly in public.
Paul Atkinson, of Haresfinch Road, St Helens, appeared at Liverpool, Knowsley, and St Helens Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 21, where he pleaded guilty to both offences.
The court heard that on Thursday, May 21, Atkinson was found in possession of a snap bag containing ketamine, a Class B drug, at the junction of Markfield Crescent and Merton Bank Road.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, July 7, in Church Square, in St Helens town centre, he was drunk and disorderly.
Atkinson, 35, pleaded guilty to both charges during his court appearance.

He was fined £80 for the drug offence and ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The court also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the ketamine under Section 27 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
The defendant was given no separate penalty for the drunk and disorderly offence.
The court took his guilty plea into account.
