A MAN has been banned from driving after failing to provide a breath sample to police.
Geoffrey Seddon, of Mill Lane, Sutton Leach, refused to give a specimen of breath for analysis at Copy Lane police station in Netherton on Sunday, May 10.
He appeared before Liverpool, Knowsley, and St Helens Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to the offence in July.
The court handed 43-year-old Seddon a 17-month driving ban, which could be reduced by 17 weeks if he completes an approved drink-driving course by June 9, 2027.
He was also given a community order lasting for one year.

The order includes 12 months of alcohol treatment with Change Grow Live and up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity.
In addition to the ban and community order, Seddon was fined £533, ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, and given a £114 victim surcharge.
The court took his guilty plea into account when deciding on the sentence.
The case had been adjourned from July 7 to allow for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
The ban took immediate effect from the date of his interim disqualification last month.
