Legendary ska-pop band Madness will take to the stage at Haydock Racecourse this Saturday, July 18, as part of their 21-date UK and Ireland tour.

The group, best known for hits including 'One Step Beyond', 'Baggy Trousers', 'Our House' and 'It Must Be Love', will perform on Saturday evening in what promises to be one of the venue's biggest music events of the summer.

Formed in 1976, Madness remain one of Britain's most successful and enduring bands, with six members of the original line-up still performing together. During their commercial peak between 1980 and 1986, the band spent a combined 214 weeks on the UK singles chart and achieved 16 UK top-10 singles, including the chart-topping House of Fun.

A full evening of live entertainment has been planned, with singer-songwriter Laurie Wright opening proceedings from 6.30pm to 7pm. Indie rock outfit The Ordinary Boys will then perform from 7.30pm to 8.15pm before Madness headline from 8.45pm until 10.15pm. Gates open at 6pm.

Laurie Wright, from Camden, has built a reputation for blending personal and often hard-hitting themes with energetic rock melodies, while The Ordinary Boys, formed in Worthing, are known for their mix of punk and Britpop influences.

Tickets remain available from £50.40 through the Haydock Racecourse website. Organisers have confirmed this is a concert-only event, with no horse racing taking place.

Racecourse guidance states that all under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 21 or over, or by a parent, on entry to the venue.

A maximum of three under-18s are permitted per adult. Children aged 15 and under must remain with their responsible adult throughout the event, while those aged 16 and 17 may move around the venue independently, provided their accompanying adult remains on site.

With the concert taking place outdoors, attendees are being encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather. Current forecasts from the Met Office suggest a warm and sunny evening, with temperatures reaching around 22C.

Visitors should note that picnics and alcohol brought from outside the venue are not permitted. Vehicles may be left overnight but must be collected by 10am the following morning. However, overnight stays in campervans, motorhomes or any other vehicles are not allowed due to licensing and health and safety regulations.

With a catalogue packed full of classic hits and a reputation for energetic live performances, Madness are expected to draw thousands of fans to Haydock for a night of nostalgia and singalong favourites.
