PROPERTIES in Blackbrook have been affected by a power cut.

The outage, which was first reported yesterday, July 1, at 10.22am, was caused by an incident involving an underground electricity cable in the area.

Electricity North West has been working to restore power and estimates that supply will be fully restored by 6.30pm today (Thursday, July 2).

An Electricity North West statement online said: "We are sorry you are experiencing a power cut."

"With underground power cuts, we may need to dig to repair the cable and this can sometime extend the length of time you are without power."

Engineers are currently on site to carry out the necessary repairs.

The company has advised that all timescales for restoration are estimated and may change if new information comes to light while the repairs are underway.

Electricity North West has reassured those affected that they are working as quickly and safely as possible to resolve the issue.

The company has suggested that extra steps may be necessary due to the underground nature of the fault, which could involve digging to access and repair the damaged cable.
